Ryan's background as a performer includes stints as a teen rocker in West Palm Beach's Clematis Street club scene, sharing the stage in Nashville with country legends Ronnie Milsap and Lorrie Morgan, and touring the US alongside “Rosemary’s Granddaughter” Jessica Andrews.
