Storytelling Lab
April 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th, 2023 & May 3rd, 10th, 2023
Classes: 1pm to 4pm
Storytelling is an essential tool of communication. For the teller, storytelling can help process life experience, allow space for self-reflection, and build confidence as a communicator. For a community, stories preserve history, create empathy, and deepen connections between peoples. The goal of Storytelling Lab is to provide students with the space, tools and practice necessary to grow in the art and craft of personal storytelling. Students will create content from personal experience, learn strategies to craft and structure these stories, and practice dynamic storytelling performance. The class will culminate in a sharing of these stories with a small group of friends and family (memorization is not necessary).
6 weeks, 3 hours a week with some small writing assignments out of class.
Classes take place in person Wednesdays, April 5th through May 10th. 1pm to 4pm at The Sharon Warehouse Rehearsal Room located at: 702 Duck Lake Rd. Lady Lake, FL 32159
Capacity - 10 participants. Please note: You must be at least 18 years of age to participate.
