Summer Camp Teen Apprentice: The Wizard of Oz
Entering grades 9-12
June 2nd-7th, 2025 / Monday-Saturday, 8:30am-4pm
Ideal for students entering grades 9-12th who have a passion for theater education, and want to work alongside the teaching artists to put together a show! Apprentices will have the opportunity to work with the director, choreographer, and musical director for the camp, as well as participating in technical aspects based on interest and need. Classroom Apprenticeships:
- Set an example by being a model learner
- Assist with check-in/out and attendance procedures
- Learn all lines, songs, blocking, and other elements of the class or camp
- Help support the daily needs of the classroom (ex. clean up, gather materials, model choreography, etc.)
- Encourage and be aware of the well-being of each student
- Help refocus and guide students through activities, exercises, blocking, choreography, etc.
- Assist teaching artists in monitoring students during snack time, lunch time, and bathroom breaks
- Collect and gather supplies for teaching artists in the EDU Dept. (as needed)
- Assist in distributing t-shirts for presentations (as needed)
- Assist in the final presentation as a model for students to follow (as needed)
- Manage and organize morning and after care supplies
- Assist with other needs in the class/camp (as needed)
